Tell us a little about yourself

I am a computer programmer by trade. I am married and have three children. We live in Lincoln, Nebraska. I am writing a series of five books. The first two are in print, and I am currently working on the third. I enjoy watching sports of almost any type. I also enjoy board and computer games.

Tell us about your latest novel.

The second book in my Swords of B’ajj series was published this summer. It is subtitled “Pathfinder”. The premise of the series is about a group of five swords that have been created by a blacksmith named B’ajj. The swords each have one special ability and then allow their owners another three abilities that they can choose. In “Pathfinder” the main characters; Bart Taylor, Steve Wolfe, Matt Walker, and Erin McNamara are trying to find Steve’s sister Michele who was been kidnapped. Michele has been offered in exchange for Erin. Steve’s special ability he receives through the sword is the ability to track anyone anywhere for up to three days. So, he begins his search for Michele instead of sacrificing Erin for Michele’s safe return. The others also begin a search on their own that takes them all across the country to the Grand Canyon where they meet up with those that have kidnapped Michele.

Where did the idea for your latest book (or short story) come from?

The entire series was something that I wanted to create since I was in high school. I imagined as a teen that I had a sword like Bart’s. I was invincible with that imaginary sword, and it’s special ability was that I always knew if someone was telling the truth of not. The series is just continuing my imagination from my younger days.

Traditional, Small Press, or Self-publish? Why?

I went the self-publishing route because I felt that being a relative unknown it would be difficult to get my product out in front of people. I felt I had a pretty good story that I wanted to share, but it’s not an easy field to break into. Self-publishing was a forum that gave me a chance to share my story with others.

Who are some of your favorite authors?

I like some of the obvious like Brandon Sanderson, JK Rowling, JRR Tolkien, Rick Riordan, among others. One series I really liked was the Farworld series by J. Scott Savage. I thought those were really well done.

How do you deal with rejection?

I cry! 🙂

If you were trapped on a desert island with only one book, which one would it be?

It would definitely have to be a book on the best way to get off a desert island! I’m sure there’s some kind of a self-help book out there on that topic!

How can our readers find you?

My first two books can be found on Amazon with the others to follow.

They are at The Swords of B’ajj: Truthseeker and The Swords of B’ajj: Pathfinder.

I have a personal web site at www.theswordsofbajj.com/

I can be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/swordsbajj/
