Five Links Friday 2/1/19

February 1, 2019 By: Jason Bougger

The Best Articles I Read About Writing This WeekHey, it’s Friday! I’ve got to start off this weekend by saying, yes, I’m still here and alive and well. I haven’t been posting much as of late, and I even missed last week’s Five Links Friday. Sigh. Not slacking at all though; I’ve just been dedicating most of my non-parenting time to the card game. (And for the cheap plug, you can catch up on 52 Dragons at the website and on Twitter.) And with that out of the way, here are the best articles I read about writing this week!

1. Let’s start with a post on my favorite topic: Money! Here is Money and Meaning For Creative Entrepreneurs: Making Commerce Creative by Orna Ross.

2. Next up, here’s some advice on Why (and When) Word Counts Matter by Victoria Griffin.

3. Paula Puddephatt has a post on Building Suspense and Tension in Your Fiction that is worth a look if you struggle in that area.

4. Since time management plays a huge role in writing for those of us with day jobs, families, and like a hundred other hustles, here are Five Time Management Skills That Work by Ron Lieback at Forbes.

5. Finally, here’s a post by Joe Bunting at The Write Practice on How to Write a Short Story from Start to Finish.

That does it for this week. I’ll try to get back on a better schedule soon. And I think I also owe ya’ll a podcast too 🙂 So check back soon, and have a great weekend!
