Five Links Friday 12/27/19

December 27, 2019 By: Jason Bougger

The best articles I read about writing this weekHey everybody! I’m back for another Five Links Friday. But first, I’d like to give a quick update on stuff. The time away from the blog was spent working my Kickstarter Campaign for 52 Dragons. And it was worth it. The game was funded! I’ll be finishing up the manual revision and proofing the cards, and will hopefully be shipping the game off to the backers by late January. After that, it will be available to the general public at The Game Crafter and Amazon. Just can’t wait! You can find out more and track updates at https://www.52dragons.com.

So with that out of the way, I’ll shift the focus back to writing and share the best links about writing I read this week.

1. Let’s start with one that should be important since a lot of us writers are elbows deep into Twitter. Stacey Carroll gives us some tips on How to Spot a Twitter Scam Account

2. Advertising and marketing sometimes sucks, especially for those of us who suck at it. Here’s a post by Leslie D. Davis to help make things a little bit easier as we approach the new year: How to Write Targeted Ad Copy for Holiday Shoppers

3. Andrea Ackerman has a great article on conflict via Family Secrets Being Revealed at Writers Helping Writers.

4. Stacy Carroll gets a second nod this week with this great post on 6 Benefits of Being a Freelance Writer.

5. Finally, here are some quick tips from Kristen Hare that will help make you a better writing in 2020.

And that is it! It’s good to be back. I’ve got some big goals for 2020, but the biggest is to maintain a better balance between family, writing, blogging, and the gaming business. I hope you’re final weekend of 2019 is amazing!
